The New Zealand Children’s Choral Academy Summer Choral School brings together young singers from across Auckland and beyond for three unforgettable days of inspiring music-making, led by Elise Bradley MNZM and Amelia Giles, alongside a team of outstanding tutors and collaborative artists.
Throughout the three day programme, singers will explore an array of diverse choral music, develop their voices, and learn the art of singing together in harmony. Guided by world-class tutors, children discover not only the joy of music but also the musicianship, confidence, and curiosity that form the foundation for lifelong artistry.
The Summer Choral School welcomes all who love to sing, while also providing pathways for those showing exceptional promise to take their talents even further. It’s a place where potential is nurtured, friendships flourish, and the next generation of Aotearoa’s finest young singers begin their journey.
The three-day programme culminates in a presentation for family and friends, on Thursday 22 January at 3:30 pm, showcasing everything the singers have learned throughout the course.
Our Summer Choral School offers tailored experiences for young singers at every stage:
Junior Choir – Ages 7–9
A fun and creative introduction to choral singing where children explore their voices through songs, movement, and musical games. The Junior Choir runs on the mornings only from 9:30am–12:30pm.
Senior Choir – Ages 10+
For developing singers ready to extend their vocal and musical skills in a supportive, energetic environment. The Senior Choir works on a diverse range of repertoire and develops ensemble, tone, and musicianship through daily rehearsals and workshops.
Choral Scholars –
within the Senior Choir, our auditioned Choral Scholars programme offers an additional opportunity for singers showing strong musical promise to perform more advanced repertoire. Interested singers will be invited to submit a short video audition after registration.
The number and structure of choirs will be confirmed based on enrolments, ensuring that every participant is placed in an appropriate and rewarding group.
The Summer Choral School runs from Tuesday 20 to Thursday 22 January 2026, with each day beginning at 9:30 am and concluding at 4:30 pm.
Junior Choir: 9:30am–12:30pm
Senior Choir: 9:30 am–4:30pm
Performance Presentation: Thursday 22 January, 3:30pm–4:30pm
Registration fees include tuition, all music materials ($20 worth), and participation in the final presentation. Scholarships are available for whānau who face barriers to participation.

We welcome singers from across Aotearoa to take part in the NZCCA Summer Choral School. Please note that the participation fee does not include travel to and from Auckland, or accommodation during the programme. Whānau are responsible for arranging their own transport and accommodation if required.
